The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is participating for the first time in Winter Olympics Beijing 2022, which will be held in Beijing between February 4 and 20. Three players qualified for the Olympics: Faeq Abidi, Salman Al-Hweish and Rakan Rida after they collected qualifying points as the first Saudi and Gulf athletes to qualify to the winter Olympics, where their qualification marks the first for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the alpine skiing competitions. The Olympic and Paralympic committees announced choosing Abidi to represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Olympics after the technical preference that was made among qualifiers in coordination with the Saudi Winter Sports Federation, especially that the regulations identified one seat for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the alpine skiing. Around 3,000 athletes are participating in this year winter Olympics in 15 games.
