CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Sultan bin Abdurrahman Al-Marshad today at the fund headquarters received Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sierra Leone Professor David J. Francis in the presence of Saudi ambassador to Sierra Leone and the ambassador of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meeting reviewed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts, through SFD's development projects and programs financed by the fund to support Sierra Leone. The two sides also discussed issues of mutual interest. The minister expressed his gratitude for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts in supporting Sierra Leone, praising the efforts of SFD in financing development projects and programs over the past years, noting that he personally benefited from one of the educational programs and projects, adding that these projects benefit all in Sierra Leone and play a positive role in the social and economic growth and prosperity. SFD has offered 5 soft loans to support and finance 5 development projects and programs with a total value exceeding USD 58 million, in addition to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's grant to the Saudi Program for Digging Wells and Rural Development in Africa, where the program's contribution to the fifth phase in Sierra Leone stands at USD 5 million.
