Deputy Finance Minister for International Affairs Dr. Ryadh Alkhareif participated in the 7th meeting of the Finance Deputies in Arab Countries, held on Wednesday and Thursday and organized by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) with the participation of experts and representatives from the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group, as well as the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The meeting aims to exchange the experiences of Arab countries in the fiscal and economic fields, including discussing the latest updates on the most important economic developments in the Arab countries. Participants also discussed the governments' role in promoting private sector-led growth in the region. During the meeting, Dr. Ryadh Alkhareif shared the Kingdom's successful experiences in a number of related topics, including the Kingdom's experience in the field of publishing public financial statistics (GFS), in addition to fiscal policies that support the stage of recovery from the repercussions of the pandemic. The meeting comes in preparation for a meeting of the Council of Finance Ministers in Arab Countries expected to be held next April within the framework of the joint annual meetings of Arab financial institutions. It is worth noting also that the Council of Arab Finance Ministers in 2015 called for a meeting at the deputies' level to further deepen the discussion on various issues, and enhance opportunities for exchanging experiences and expertise between the finance ministries in Arab countries.
