Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, signed today a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Republic of Tunisia Nayla Nouira El-Kenji. The MoU's scope covers the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency and conservation. The MoU aims at developing cooperation and exchanging information and expertise between the two brotherly countries in these areas through related research and studies, as well as exchanging related policies and legislation. The MoU includes cooperation on management of renewable energy demand and on existing expertise on time of use tariffs. It also covers cooperation in areas such as load displacement, reliable and sustainable operation of energy systems, promotion of smart energy consumption, and the standard indicators of energy consumption in the industrial sector. Furthermore, the MoU encourages holding joint seminars and training courses on renewable energy, energy efficiency and conservation, and urges the private sector of both countries to create partnerships in this field.
