The Ministries of Education and Health announced today that in-class education will resume for students of the elementary and kindergarten stages for those who are less than 12 years old at public, private, international and foreign schools as of Sunday January 23, 2022, with the continuation of online education through various platforms for students who cannot attend classes for health reasons. The decision underscores the integration of efforts between the Ministries of Education and Health and the Public Health Authority in applying the precautionary protocols and procedures for the safe return of in-class education for the middle and secondary stages. It also comes as a result of success in the application process for the middle and secondary stages and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts in reaching high levels of community immunization. The Ministry of Education is following up on the educational process at the elementary and kindergarten stages according to flexible operational models for the return and commitment to applying health protocols and procedures accredited by the Public Health Authority, with emphasis on the preparedness of all schools to apply these protocols and procedures. The Ministries of Education and Health have expressed their appreciation for the efforts of families and parents in following up on their children during the online education and preparing them for the in-class education in the middle and secondary stages, voicing aspiration for these efforts to continue upon resuming in-class education for the elementary and kindergarten stages, stressing the importance of social partnership in supporting the continuation of the educational process at the in-class and hybrid levels despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
