The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud virtually inaugurated today the works of the 2nd year of the 8th session of the Shura Council, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. At the outset of the Council's meeting, verses from the Holy Qur'an were recited. Then, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council, delivered a speech on this occasion. After that, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud delivered the annual royal speech as follows: In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful Praise be to Allah and peace be upon His Prophet Dear brothers and sisters, members of the Shura Council Allah's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you We are pleased to inaugurate the works of the second year of the eighth session of the Shura Council, praying to Allah Almighty to help us to serve our dear nation. We thank Allah Almighty that has guided this country, since its establishment, to work on the principle of consultation, in compliance with Allah's saying: "whose affair is determined by consultation among themselves". The great efforts being made by the council are highly appreciated. We are also proud that Allah Almighty has honored us with serving the Two Holy Mosques and pilgrims. Dear brothers and sisters, The start of the second phase of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 pushes the achievement wheel and continues reforms for the prosperity of our nation and ensuring the future of its people, via creating a solid and diversified economy that addresses global changes. We have blessed HRH the Crown Prince's launch of many projects, with a future vision, which support within its systems, sustainability, prosperity, innovation, and business leadership that provide job opportunities and achieve huge returns to the domestic product. The Kingdom's global position emanates from its Arab and Islamic status as well as its pivotal roles in the international politics, and its commitment to covenants towards achieving security, peace, stability and prosperity.
