Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh at the Shura Council's headquarters in Riyadh today received the Ambassador of Germany to the Kingdom, Dieter Lamle and a number of officials from the embassy. At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Al-Sheikh welcomed the German ambassador, wishing him success in his duties in a way that contributes to strengthening the bilateral relations that bring together the two friendly countries. He stressed the importance of relations between Saudi Arabia and Germany in various fields, especially economic, investment and trade. During the meeting, the Speaker of the Shura Council presented the role of the Shura Council in the legislative system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and work mechanisms, in addition to its efforts at the level of parliamentary diplomacy in all regional and international events and through its membership in regional and international unions. For his part, the German ambassador underlined the important role of parliamentary relations in enhancing bilateral cooperation through activating parliamentary friendship committees and continuous communication between the Shura Council and the German Bundestag, the national parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, stressing that the relations between two countries are distinguished.
