The first Translation Forum in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia opened today in the capital Riyadh. The Forum is held under the patronage of Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, and organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education. The Forum was inaugurated by CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission Dr. Mohammed Hasan Alwan. In a speech during the opening ceremony, Dr. Alwan emphasised the importance of translation. He pointed to the efforts of the commission to take the Saudi translation sector to the highest level of professionalism. Dr. Alwan said that translation has become a necessity and a basic component of civilization so the nation becomes proud of the different aspects of its components and more harmonies at the international level. The opening ceremony was attended by many senior officials, experts from the kingdom and abroad and people of interest.
