A Conference of Women Empowerment and their Developmental Role in the Reign of King Salman will be held tomorrow morning, Tuesday, at Imam Mohammad ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh. Minister of Education Dr. Hamad Al-Sheikh will launch the works and activities of the Conference on behalf of her highness Princess Fahdah bint Falah Al Hithleen, the wife of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The conference will highlight the most significant legislative reforms in the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and their role in empowering women as well as strengthening the role of Saudi women in achieving the targets of Saudi Vision 2030. The organization of the conference is the result of the deep-rooted belief of the importance of highlighting the pioneering role of the wise leadership in the empowerment of Saudi women and supporting their participation in current national development paths. In addition, the conference will review achievements, experiences and gains of Saudi women's cadres in light of the generous support being provided by the leadership. President of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University and the Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the conference Dr. Ahmed bin Salim Al-Amiri stated that the royal approval to organize this conference comes within the leadership's interest and support for Saudi women. It also highlights the leadership's support for women as well as the women's efforts in development. He also stressed that during the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques the Saudi women have made many achievements in the human rights, academic, security, diplomatic and legislative fields. Dr. Al-Amiri noted that the programs of the Saudi Vision 2030, under the leadership of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, included goals, initiatives, programs, projects and mechanisms that would advance women and empower them in rights, work and society, through encouraging their full participation in the labor market, developing talents, investing energies, and enabling them to obtain appropriate opportunities in order to build their future and contribute to the development of the economy and society. The conference is scheduled to be marked by major scientific sessions and various interactive sessions, accompanied by an exhibition of the works and events of the conference, with the participation of 30 participants from various government and private sectors. It will also include the presentation of 49 refereed scientific papers about the achievements, historical decisions and reforms related to Saudi women and means and mechanisms of strengthening them in the light of the generous support and guidance of our leadership. Meanwhile, 110 male and female speakers will participate in the scientific and interactive sessions accompanying the works and events of the conference. The conference is organized by Imam Mohammad ibn Saud Islamic University. President of the University Dr. Ahmed bin Salim Al-Amiri, Vice-rector of the University for Female Students Dr. Nouf bint Abd Al-Alee Al-Ajmi as well as a number of university leaders and female leaders from various sectors will attend the launch of the conference. Participants from some 60 ministries, institutions, government agencies and civil institutions will also take part in the conference.
