Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah held yesterday a discussion panel in Rome with a group of parliamentarians and members of the Italian Senate. During the discussion panel, Dr. Al-Rabeeah underlined the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's humanitarian efforts, represented by KSrelief, which reached more than 75 countries around the world, reviewing the center's various projects in those countries to serve needy groups, as the number of the projects amounted to more than 1,780 humanitarian projects in various vital sectors, with a value exceeding USD5.5 billion. KSrelief Supervisor General highlighted the center's qualitative projects, which were widely praised by members of Parliament, noting that number of the dismantled mines in Yemen through KSrelief 's qualitative project (Masam), reached more than 284,000 mines until late October. Dr. Al-Rabeeah also addressed the center's efforts in caring for victims of the mines through establishing and operating of a number of artificial limbs centers in various Yemeni governorates, adding that the number of beneficiaries of the centers' services has so far reached more than 25,000 people. In the context of qualitative projects, KSrelief Supervisor General affirmed the center's interest and care for children who are victims of recruitment and exploitation in conflict areas, adding that the KSrelief has implemented a project to rehabilitate recruited children in Yemen, whereas the number of beneficiaries of this project reached more than 61,000 people, including children and their parents. Al-Rabeeah indicated that the strategic partnerships of KSrelief with international agencies and organizations, amounting to 144 partners, reflects the confidence that the Saudi entity has at the global level. He pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided a comprehensive program to support different countries with vaccines and the necessary preventive medical assistance, as the number of beneficiary countries has reached more than 34 countries around the world. He added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's contributions to confront the coronavirus pandemic internationally amounted to more than USD833 million. The parliamentarians praised KSrelief's experiences in the humanitarian field and the successes it achieved in a short time, stressing the importance of exchanging experiences and enhancing ways of partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Italy in this aspect to serve humanitarian work.
