The Arab League has decided to postpone the meeting of the Arab Foreign Ministers, scheduled to be held on Jan 9-10, 2005, to Jan 12-13, 2005. The meeting will be preceded by a meeting for the permanent representatives of Arab countries at the Arab League on Jan 10-11, 2005, for preparation of the agenda of the meeting. An official source at the Arab League attributed this development, which took place after conducting consultations among the Arab Foreign Ministers, to the keenness of the Arab League on enabling some Foreign Ministers to participate in the ceremony due to be organized in Nairobi on the occasion of signing the peace agreement between the Sudanese Government and the Popular Movement on Sunday, Jan 9, 2005. The Arab League's Secretary General Amr Mousa will participate in the ceremony.
