Pakistan and Ukraine say there are good prospects of closer defense cooperation between them, according to an official statement. Pakistan's Minister of State for Defense Zahid Hamid and Ukrainian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Igor Polikha discussed various matters pertaining to the enhancement of mutual cooperation between the two countries in different fields. The minister agreed with the envoy that the two countries should strengthen mutually beneficial defense and economic relations, and establish closer collaboration not only in the field of defense but also in trade and economic spheres. The ambassador proposed exchange of visits by parliamentarians of the two countries so as to develop people to people contact. Hamid appreciated the envoy's proposal for undertaking visits by the members of Chambers of Commerce & Industries from all major cities of Pakistan, to Ukraine, which will enhance trade relations between the two countries.
