The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) team visited one of the food aid distribution centers in the Yemeni governorate of Abyan, during which they were briefed on the progress of distribution plans and operations, in cooperation with the local authorities through the implementing partner World Food Program (WFP). The beneficiaries expressed their thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief, for providing them with humanitarian aid and assistance, in light of the difficult circumstances they are going through. It is worth noting that the KSrelief signed a joint cooperative program with the WFP, in July, with a value of $60 million to meet the urgent food needs of the neediest groups in Yemen, in accordance with the Humanitarian Response Plan for the year 2021. The program aims to afford 68,545 tons of food for more than 4,900,000 people suffering from acute food insecurity in a number of governorates in Yemen, and it will last for 6 months.
