Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich on Sunday tacitly admitted he might lose the country's election and promised he would lead the opposition. Yanukovich made the comments at a Kiev press conference shortly before polls closed at 8 p.m. "If there is (my) defeat, then there will be a tough opposition formed...and I will lead it," Yanukovich said. "Then my opponents will see what a real opposition is." Exit polls picked Yanukovich to be the landslide loser to former National Bank head Viktor Yuschenko, by a 15 per cent margin. Official results were due on Monday morning. Yanukovich defeated Yuschenko in a November 21 run-off, but the Supreme Court annulled the result as too marred by vote-fixing to be valid. Yuschenko has been the leader of the opposition since 2002.
