Pierre Kingsley, Canada's chief electoral officer, said the group would send only a few if any to Iraq because of the dangers to their safety. "We are not calling this an observation mission," he was quoted as saying."It is an assessment mission." Kingsley said the seven-nation group would get in touch with the Iraqi electoral commission and other groups, visit Iraq in coming weeks rely on them for news on election day on January 30.
