As part of its health education program for those performing Hajj this year, the Ministry of Health will distribute 1.75 million pamphlets in 10 languages. "The ministry has a comprehensive program to ensure that pilgrims follow basic health rules," said Dr. Khaled Al-Merghalani, general supervisor for communications and health awareness campaign at the Ministry of Health. Pamphlets are printed in English, Arabic, French, Urdu, Indonesian, Persian, Russian, Turkish, Chinese and Bengali, according to a press statement published today. In addition to the booklets, Dr. Al-Merghalani said the ministry had put up posters in public places in both Makkah and Madinah and also at the Hajj Terminal in Jeddah. Pilgrims arriving at the Hajj Terminal will hear the health messages in 13 languages. The pamphlets advise pilgrims on personal cleanliness, environmental health and the best conduct in a crowded situation.
