On behalf of Prince Abdulmajeed bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Makkah region, Prince Abdullah bin Fahd, the Undersecretary of Makkah Region for Security Affairs, inaugurated here on Saturday evening the second international forum on investment in technology. The two-day forum is organized by the Arab Organization for Sciences and Technology in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Abdel-Latif Jamil Company, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Jeddah, and Jeddah Marketing Council. Addressing the forum's inaugural session, Dr Ghassan Al-Suleiman, the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Jeddah, said the forum aims at the service of the economy as well as extending support to the investment projects. On his part, Dr Ahmad Mohammed Ali, the President of the IDB, underlined the importance of investment in the field of technology and development of the skills of the national cadres in this sphere. A number of specialized companies from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Untied Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt, Jordan, the US, Canada and Malaysia are participating in the forum.
