Two passengers' trains collided Tuesday in northern India, slamming into one another along a stretch of rural track, officials said. At least 15 people are believed to have been killed. Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav told reporters that at least 15-20 people were believed to have been killed. "We are focusing on ... rescue at this moment," Devender Sandhu, a railway spokesman told NDTV television. Fog could have played a role in the accident, he said. The accident occurred along a rural stretch of track between the cities of Pathankot and Jalandhar, in India's northern Punjab province, about 300 kilometers (180 miles) northwest of New Delhi. No other details were immediately available.
