Saudi MAS Veterinary Services Company and the Argentine Biogenesis Bago signed here today an agreement aiming at manufacturing the foot-and-mouth disease vaccine and establishing a factory and specialized research center designed to qualify the Kingdom to a leading regional FMD vaccine manufacturer to support and develop the livestock sector. The agreement was co-signed by the CEO of MAS Veterinary Services Nawaf Al-Ibrahim and Biogenesis Bago CEO Esteban Toric. Under the agreement, the two parties will work side by side to make the Kingdom the first and main Arab source in the Middle East to produce 200 million doses of FMD vaccine to combat the disease, a vital threat to livestock and food security around the world. The event took place under the patronage of the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, and in the presence of CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadhey.
