The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has revealed, through its monthly industrial report, that 59 industrial licenses were issued in May, 2021, with a capital of SAR 532 million. The report, issued by the National Center for Industrial Information, indicated that the national investment constituted 97% of the newly licensed industrial ventures. Data also showed that small-sized factories constituted around 75% of the licenses granted for the new industrial ventures across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and 22 and 12 of licenses were for factories established in Riyadh and Eastern regions respectively. Meanwhile, 17% of the newly issued licenses were granted to food manufacturers. As for job creation, the industrial sector has created around 6,753 job opportunities, whereas the number of jobs allocated for Saudis during May reached 4,320, according to the report. The report stated that a total of 33 factories began production in May with a capital of SAR 1,229 billion. Meanwhile, the number of operating industrial facilities has reached 10,070 by the end of May with a volume of investments exceeding SAR 1.134 trillion. The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, through the National Center for Industrial Information, issues monthly key indicators on the industrial sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Through the report, it reveals the volume of changes that the sector is witnessing regarding new industrial investments.
