Ten people were killed Sunday when a tanker truck crashed into a minibus in western Turkey, news reports said. The tanker truck was trying to pass a vehicle near the western city of Balikesir when it crashed into the minibus in the other lane, the Anatolia news agency and other reports said. The casualties were the driver and passengers on the minibus, Anatolia said. The truck driver was not injured and was detained by authorities. It was not clear what the truck was carrying or if it was empty at the time. Balikesir is some 550 kilometers (340 miles) west of the capital Ankara.
