The French government is reducing its share in the carrier Air France-KLM by 18.4 per cent, the ABN Amro Bank said Thursday in Paris. Most of the capital, 17.7 per cent of the government's share, will be sold on the market and is expected to reap about 700 million euros (934 million dollars). The rest will be made available to employees of the airline. As a result of this transaction, the French government's participation in Air France-KLM will be reduced from 44.1 per cent to 25.7 per cent. Air France took over the Dutch carrier KLM in spring of this year, creating the world's largest airline in terms of revenue.
