The Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) held here today, in person as well as virtually, a symposium in collaboration with the Muslim World League (MWL), under the theme: Makkah Document.. achievements and prospects. Addressing the opening session, the Director General of the ICESCO Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik reaffirmed that the symposium is an occasion to exchange wise views and to be inspired by the discreet and sober ideas on the Makkah Document, which he called as the document for hope and fully rising light. For his part, the main speaker at the symposium was the Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Isa, who delivered a lecture spotlighting the achievements and the prospects of the document that was co-signed by as many as 1,200 scholars and muftis, representing all Islamic sects and factions, in addition to 4,500 Islamic thinkers, who witnessed its promulgation. The document consists of 27 provisions, focusing on the role of Islamic civilization, especially, in honoring mankind and consolidating co-existence values for the sake of humanity.
