The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef bin Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf expressed rejection and disapproval of the remarks Charbel Wehbe, the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, in the Lebanese care-taker government, made during a TV interview, including outrageous insults against GCC member states and peoples, in addition to offending the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al-Hajraf reaffirmed the firm and well-established stances of the GCC member states, in backing up the brethren Lebanese people, calling them stances that history stands as witness for, aiming at maintaining the safety of Lebanon and supporting its stability and security, adding that such remarks are incompatible with the simple recognized diplomatic norms as they do not get harmoniously along with historical relations between the GCC member states and Lebanon. He also demanded Charbel Wehbe, the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Lebanon, to make an official apology to the GCC member states and peoples, for the absolutely unacceptable insults he made.
