The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the Sudanese National Commission for Education, Science and Culture signed virtually today an agreement to launch "Project of Addressing COVID-19 by Supporting Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Women and Youth" in Sudan, within the framework of the partnership between the ICESCO and Alwaleed Philanthropies, to support the efforts of 10 African countries to confront the negative implications of the pandemic. The agreement, which was co-signed by Director General of the ICESCO Dr. Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik, and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Sudan Dr. Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi, aims to develop the innovation and entrepreneurship among women and youth in Sudan, and to support the private sector and entrepreneurs. On this occasion, Dr. Al-Malik affirmed the ICESCO's determination to continue its efforts to support its member states in addressing the negative implications of the pandemic, expressing great thanks and gratitude to Alwaleed Philanthropies, for its generous support for the ICESCO's humanitarian and social initiative for 10 African countries. For her part, the Sudanese official hailed the initiatives, programs and activities launched and implemented by the ICESCO during the pandemic, valuing the aid provided by Alwaleed Philanthropies to her country, through its partnership with the ICESCO.
