Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that the "Saudi Green" and "Green Middle East" initiatives announced by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, reflect the importance of the Saudi role in protecting the planet, which the Kingdom's emphasizes on during its presidency of the G20 summit, in which a dedicated environmental declaration was issued, concept of Circular Carbon Economy was adopted, and the first environmental taskforce was established. The two Initiatives at this level in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region reflect the pioneer efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia along with clear and ambitious endeavours for global cooperation to protect the earth and increase the quality of life in the region and the world, the paper added. To culminate these important steps, HRH the Crown Prince has pointed out during phone calls with many world leaders that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is working to organize an annual summit for the "Green Middle East" Initiative in the presence of leaders and officials in the environmental field, launching a new era led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on common international issues to tackle the environmental and economic challenges facing the region, which will bring economic benefits on the regional map, the paper concluded.
