Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States (GCC) Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf stressed today the importance of Gulf-Greek relations, which are witnessing growth and development in all fields to serve common interests between the two sides. This came during a meeting in Riyadh with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic (Greece) Nikos Dendias; Greek Minister of National Defense Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos; and their accompanying delegation. Dr. Al-Hajraf and Foreign Minister signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for consultations on issues of common interest between the GCC General Secretariat and the government of the Hellenic Republic. Dr. Al-Hajraf stressed that this MoU comes within the framework of constant keenness to develop GCC's relations with countries and global bodies, in various fields. It also aims to achieve common interests of all sides, in a way that enhances the position of the GCC at regional and international levels, as the memorandum included a mechanism for cooperation and consultations in political, economic, commercial and investment fields.
