OPEC will probably not discuss changing its $22-$28 a barrel target price band at next week's meeting in Cairo, OPEC governor Hossein Kazempour Ardebili was quoted as saying on Saturday. "It does not seem that under current conditions, where the oil market is affected by issues such as instability in Iraq, that changing the OPEC price band will be discussed in Cairo," he told the Sharq daily in an interview. Some OPEC ministers have advocated a basket price around $30-$35, labelling $22-$28 outdated, according to a report circulated today by Reuters. OPEC President and Indonesian Oil Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro told reporters on Friday that $28-$32 was an acceptable price bracket. The OPEC basket price fell to $35.42 on Thursday.
