Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh, Al-Yaum and Al-Eqtisadiah newspapers reported in their editorials that the charitable and non-profit sector is one of the most important sectors in Saudi Arabia, since it is the method for realizing charity and Zakat in Islam, as well as realizing the concept of social responsibility. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's global leadership in charitable works resulted in developing this field in a scientific way, through harnessing technology to serve and promote its work, in order to ensure that donations reach needy people in the least time and with the least effort possible. Therefore, the National Platform for Charitable Work (Ehsan) that receives unlimited support from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), was launched, the papers added. The newspapers further added that Ehsan platform came as an extension of HRH the Crown Prince's keenness to support charitable work, develop the non-profit sector and increase its performance efficiency and reliability in accordance with the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The newspapers added that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud donation of SR20 million for charitable and non-profitable works, via Ehsan Platform and HRH the Crown Prince's donation of SR10 million represent the leadership's confidence in the work of Ehsan Platform and its projects, as it also affirms the quality and accuracy of the supervision and governance mechanisms that the platform follows. The newspapers noted that Ehsan Platform's works are being monitored and supervised by a supervisory committee composed of SDAIA, along with seven ministries. This reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's interest in implementing charitable and non-profit works in a systematic and sustainable manner, in addition to the country's keenness to expand in this field, the newspapers concluded.
