Saudi Sports Company has signed a contract with Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to receive exclusive rights to broadcast competitions held under the umbrella of AFC for four years between 2021 and 2024. Under the contract, Saudi Sports Company has rights to broadcast official matches within the geographical scope of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and exclusively for all matches of Asian competitions, including the AFC Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup China 2023 as well as the AFC Champions League. The step is a continuation of the big and generous support that the sports sector receives from the leadership and the special attention of HRH Crown Prince and his keenness to develop sports and put the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the international sports map. Such efforts made the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia the focus of attention of the world through hosting several international sports events that accord with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, in addition to allowing sports fans in general, and football in particular, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to watch major sports event. Dato' Windsor John, the AFC General Secretary, welcomed this partnership and said that it is an extremely important moment for the AFC, especially that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always been one of the strongest football countries not only in the Gulf and Middle East but also in Asia. He added that now this agreement will give millions of football fans in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia an opportunity to receive the best and most comprehensive coverage for our competitions in AFC according to the highest standards of quality and modern technologies.
