Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that Saudi-American strategic partnership made unprecedented progress in various political, military and economic fields. The two countries have joint coordination towards various issues and developments related to security and stability of the region, as they are exerting great efforts to deter the dangers facing it, in addition to the threats of the aggressive Iranian policy to the regional stability and international peace and security, the paper added. In this regard, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense has received telephone call from US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin included reviewing aspects of the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them, especially in the field of defense cooperation, in addition to discussing developments in regional events, the paper further added. During the telephone conversation, US Secretary of Defense reiterated the importance of the defensive strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as Saudi Arabia's pivotal role for the security and stability of the region and US condemnation of the Houthi attacks, in addition to the keenness to help Saudi Arabia defend itself, the paper concluded. In another context, Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that unremitting efforts, exerted by the government of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to promote and preserve human rights, are firm approach in its strategies since its inception until this prosperous era, as Human rights and the developments of all regulations related to this matter come as a priority in the plans of Saudi Arabia. In this regard, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mouallimi, confirmed that the Kingdom has exerted at the national level efforts that are consistent with its obligations towards the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and these efforts focused on strengthening cooperation between the relevant government agencies and civil society institutions, which seen as key factor for achieving the desired goals of this commitment, the paper added. Al-Mouallimi has confirmed in Saudi Arabia's speech, delivered virtually, during the meeting on the elimination of racism, xenophobia and equality for all in the contract of work for the Sustainable Development Goals 2021, that within national efforts, many legal and institutional frameworks were developed and implementation measures and procedures were taken in various areas related to human rights, including the judiciary, criminal justice, promoting integrity, combating corruption, combating racial discrimination, the rights of women and children, persons with disabilities, the elderly, migrant workers and strengthening regional and international cooperation in the field of human rights, the paper concluded.
