Interior Ministry: Extending Precautionary Measures for Additional 20 Days For Human Gatherings, Suspending Entertainment Activities and Events for 30 Days
An official source at the Ministry of Interior has stated that in addition to the statement issued on February 3, 2021, and based on what was submitted by competent health authorities regarding the measures being taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to face the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), and based on the importance of intensifying efforts to avoid the risks of the rise of the epidemic curve in the Kingdom's regions and the apparent laxity in applying preventive and precautionary measures and the approved protocols and based on the importance of preserving public health and for the purpose of achieving optimal control over the epidemiological situation, it has been decided to extend the work with the following precautionary measures for a period of (20) additional days starting from 10 pm on Sunday 2/7/1442 AH corresponding to 14/2/2021, so that the total is (30) days that can be extended according to the requirements of the epidemiological situation: First: The maximum number of human gatherings in social events shall not exceed 20 persons. Second: Suspending all entertainment activities and events. Third: Closing down cinemas, indoor entertainment centers, independent indoor games places or in restaurants, shopping malls, gyms and sports centers. Fourth: Suspending the provision of dining services in restaurants, cafes and the like, and limiting it to providing external requests. The source affirmed the importance of everyone's commitment to this, in addition to adhering to other precautionary measures mentioned in the previous statement, related to events, meetings, gatherings, parties, and funerals. The source added that all the aforementioned precautionary measures shall be subject to continuous evaluation by the competent authorities.
