Arab Banking Corporation (ABC), the largest Arab bank in terms of assets, announced yesterday that a $500-million five-year deposit facility for the bank has closed and oversubscribed. It was signed in London on Thursday. The facility was arranged by 29 banks from Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East, including Citibank, BNP Paribas and HSBC, a statement said. "We are delighted by the success of this syndication. This is one of the largest ever syndicated financings for a Gulf-based financial institution and we are extremely proud of the strong demonstration of support we have received from the Capital Markets," said the bank's President Ghazi Abdul Jawad.
