An exit poll issued after the end of voting in Ukraine's presidential election on Sunday showed that West-leaning liberal opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko had won the run-off vote. Yushchenko, an economist, took 54 percent against 42 percent for Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich, the establishment candidate who favours closer ties with Russia, the exit poll organisers said in a statement. The survey, organised by the Kiev International Institute for Sociology and the Razumkov Centre, polled 30,000 voters at 460 stations across the country.
