At least two people including a Czech tourist died and 10 others were reported missing Saturday afternoon in severe storms in Slovakia. On Friday and Saturday wind speeds reached 173 kilometres per hour in the strongest storms northern Slovakia has seen since 1936. The 27-year-old tourist who went missing Friday was found dead in a mountain valley Saturday. Rescuers opined that the man was literally "blown" off the side of a mountain. The storm, which uprooted numerous trees, and damaged houses and vehicles, left hundreds of people in mountainous areas trapped in homes due to snow including 110 children and 20 caretakers at a pulmonary treatment clinic.
