Under the patronage of Acting Minister of Media and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Press Agency Dr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) launched here today the commemorative stamp and postcard on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its establishment, in the presence of SPA President Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein and President of the Saudi Post Corporation Eng. Anef bin Ahmad Abanomai. In a statement, the Acting Minister of Media affirmed that the SPA's five-decade march was full of variables with regard to the professional and technical levels, adding that the SPA kept pace with the latest developments in the media and preserved the foundations of its media message based on reliability and objectivity in the content and consolidation of the national identity. In his own name and on behalf of the SPA's staff, Dr. Al-Qasabi extended his thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership for unlimited support to the Saudi media and the SPA, wishing more progress to the SPA in light of the huge progress in the communication technologies. For his part, the SPA President extended his thanks and appreciation to the Acting Minister of Media for honoring the launch ceremony, adding that this is registered in the history of its march. He also thanked the President of the Saudi Post Corporation for his efforts and the executive team for issuing a commemorative stamp and postcard on the occasion of the SPA's 50th anniversary. "The stamp and postcard included a picture of the new SPA building, which was inaugurated in May 2016 at Al-Sahafa district, north of Riyadh. The building was designed in the form of wave frequencies. It consists of three main buildings, including the administrative, news and technical building; the media center with terminals for reception and exhibitions, administrative offices and 356-seat theater which is equipped with advanced and integrated systems for lighting, sound and simultaneous interpretation; and the training building," he said. Meanwhile, the President of the Saudi Post Corporation expressed his happiness at launching the commemorative stamp and postcard of the Saudi Press Agency's 50th anniversary which embodies an important stage in the Saudi media. "The Saudi Post Corporation is proud to serve the state's sectors in order to achieve more achievements. The Saudi Post is taking rapid development steps in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030," he added. Then, Al-Hussain accompanied Eng. Abanomai on a tour inside the SPA's Headquarters, which included a number of SPA's departments. Then, the Acting Minister of Media and the SPA President received memorial shields from the President of the Saudi Post Corporation. Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi handed over the SPA's shield to Eng. Abanomai and certificates to the design team.
