Russia reported a record high of 25,487 new coronavirus infections on Thursday, bringing the national tally to 2,187,990. Authorities also reported a record high of 524 deaths related to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, pushing the official death toll to 38,062. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany increased by 22,268 to 983,588 and the reported death toll rose by 389 to 15,160, data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases showed on Thursday. Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
