The number of recruitment visas issued by Labour Offices in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was reduced by 51 percent to reach 31, 695 in the lunar month of Shaban,1425H, compared to the number in Shaban last year. Dr Abdul-Wahid Al-Humaid, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Planning and Development, attributed this development to the new policy of the Ministry which aims at reducing the number of foreign workforce and replacing expatriates by Saudi cadres. He noted that the rate of reduction of recruitment of foreign manpower compared to last year amounted to 89 percent at Qunfuza Labour Office, 80 percent at Jeddah Labor Office, 73 percent at Makkah Labor office, and 34 percent at Riyadh Labor Office.
