Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen held a virtual meeting today with new Special Envoy of the European Union (EU) to OIC Ambassador Patrick Simonnet, as the later assumed duties. During the meeting, they reaffirmed the importance of the cooperation and partnership between the OIC and the EU and ways to promote them, in various fields. They also discussed the most important issues of common interest and the efforts made by the OIC and the EU to respond to the Coronavirus pandemic, combat terrorism and extremism and promote moderation and coexistence. They concluded, commending the outcomes of the fourth meeting between OIC and EU senior officials, held on July 15, 2020.
