A car bomb targeting an Australian
military convoy exploded near the Australian Embassy Monday, killing three Iraqis and wounding eight others, according to Iraqi and coalition officials.
The morning explosion killed two Iraqi bystanders and
injured eight others, including children, Iraqi police and
U.S. officials said. The incident took place about 8 a.m.
(0500GMT) several hundred meters away from the Australian
Embassy.
