The Official Spokesperson of the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), Cap. Mohammad bin Khaled Al-Nujaidi said that the GDNC, in coordination with the Saudi Customs, has foiled criminal plans to smuggle more than 16 million amphetamine pills into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Al-Nujaidi said that the Directorate seized (16,343,000) sixteen million, three hundred and forty-three thousand amphetamine pills, hidden in a shipment of foodstuffs (chickpeas), adding that the competent authorities have arrested and taken the legal measures against the two recipients of the shipment, Indian and Yemeni nationals.
