The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) handed over yesterday the water resources management project to the local authority in Hadiboh District in the Yemeni governorate of Socotra. The implementation of this project was made to benefit from seasonal rainwater throughout the year, and to provide an infrastructure for managing water resources, from which 30,000 people benefit. The project came to reduce the suffering of Hadiboh people from the water shortage and its frequent interruptions in the district, especially during summer and autumn, when the cut-off period sometimes reaches a full week. It is noteworthy that the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen has launched more than 188 projects in 7 main sectors: (health, energy, transportation, water, education, agriculture and fisheries, and building the capacities of government institutions) through its offices in Yemen, and in cooperation with the local authority and the Yemeni private sector.
