Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia's Food Security Strategy Overcomes Global Supply Crisis

Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provided private sector institutions with a large and varied package of assistance since the early days of the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, in order to be remained more stronger in facing the severe repercussions of the pandemic.
The paper further said that, today, Saudi Arabia reaps the fruits of what it has already planted, as it has huge private sector capable of playing its full role in development and prosperity.
The paper added that Saudi Arabia believed in the importance of the pioneering role of the private sector in supporting the sustainable development movement, and its permanent partnership with various sectors, in achieving the aspirations of citizens and residents.
The paper concluded that Saud Arabia's vision 2030 confirmed that the private sector is the key pillar and executive partner in achieving its projects and goals.
Al-Bilad newspaper said in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's strategy of food security is based on a long-term integrated vision, entitled stability and overcoming any emerging challenges that may be imposed by global crises, such as the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
The newspaper added that Saudi Arabia is distinguished by high levels of food security which is reflected on markets that meet the need of consumers, as well as the huge investment projects in Saudi Arabia and abroad that support food stability throughout the year.
In the same context, the newspaper reported that the establishment of the National Grains Company through a strategic partnership between the Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC) and the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) with a total cost estimated at SAR 400 million will contribute to meeting the future demand for major grains in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through focusing on trade, handling and storage of grains among their sources in all regions.
