King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) in Riyadh, represented by the Pharmaceutical Care Sector, has obtained international accreditation of hospital and health system pharmacy services from the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP), and became the first international medical center which is not from the United States of America to obtain this accreditation. The pharmaceutical care sector at KFSHRC also obtained commendation in research and residency education and programs. ASHP accreditation aims to recognize hospitals and health systems that provide high-quality, safe and effective innovative pharmaceutical services worldwide. The international accreditation standards cover several basic areas, including leadership and management, quality, medications and information policy, drug safety and information management. Director General of the Pharmaceutical Care Sector at KFSHRC Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Jazari said that this accreditation will enhance the continuous development of the hospital's various pharmacies, which will be reflected in the quality of services being provided to patients in line with advanced hospitals in the United States of America.
