The Arab League (AL) welcomed the declaration of the Head of the Presidential Council of the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) Fayez Al-Serraj and the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives Aguila Saleh, committing to immediate cease fire and ending entire military operations, all over Libyan territories and working to put forward the agreed upon arrangements, over the total resumption of oil production, exporting and administering of its revenues' operations for the sake of the whole Libyans and to fold the conflict and division page, through a peaceful process to reach an integrated settlement for the Libyan crisis. In a statement announced here today, the AL expressed hope that such a positive step shall be conducive to promptly end to the ongoing negotiations between the GNA and the Libyan National Army, in the framework of the Joint Military Committee, to reach an official, permanent and comprehensive accord over the cease-fire arrangements, under the aegis of the United Nations, in a manner that shall preserve independence, sovereignty of the Libyan state, its territorial integrity and end external military intervention, conduce to chase out foreign troops from the Libyan territories and tackle the threat posed by the armed groups and militias, in the country. The Arab League also reasserted backing and supporting any efforts exerted and deemed to consolidate stability, in the country, resuming political, broad-based and purely patriotic dialogue among the Libyan brethren, under the auspices of the UN Support Mission, in Libya (UNSMIL), to complement the transitional stage and crown it with presidential and legislative elections, to be held in accordance with a strict legal and constitutional rule, agreed upon, while all shall abide by its outcomes as well as the legitimate and representative powers and institutions that would, duly, ensued.
