Bahri, world leader in logistics and transportation, has signed a new agreement with South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD), a new agreement to build 10 medium-range chemical tankers of 49,999 dwt. South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) is a subsidiary of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group HHI which owns one of the largest advanced shipyards in the world. The agreement, worth $410 million (SR1.537 billion), was signed by Bahri CEO Abdullah bin Ali Al-Dabikhi and Chief Operating Officer and Senior Executive Vice President of "Hyundai Heavy Industries" Seung Young Park, during a virtual ceremony in the presence of Several senior officials from both sides. The agreement to purchase the new chemical tankers comes as part of Bahri's continuous effort to expand its marine capabilities and modernize its huge fleet. The ten tankers, which are scheduled to begin delivery during the first quarter of 2022, will be built according to the highest standards in the field of environment, safety and fuel efficiency, and in line with the company's commitment to work responsibly.
