New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark met with representatives of India's top information technology and biotechnology companies on Monday to explore the possibility of expanding trade between the two countries. Clark visited the headquarters of India's second-largest software exporter, Infosys Technologies Ltd., and its largest biotech company, Biocon, in Bangalore _ India's technology hub. "We see a lot of opportunities to step up trade between the two countries," Clark told reporters Sunday in Bangalore, the capital of southern Karnataka state and second stop on her three-day visit to India. She was also to visit Bombay, India's financial capital, before flying to New Delhi on Wednesday for talks on bilateral relations, trade, Iraq, the Middle East and India's desire for a permanent seat on the U.N. Security Council, the Indian government said in a statement. On Wednesday, she was to meet with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and External Affairs Minister K. Natwar Singh. She also plans to stop in Singapore on her way home.
