Assistant Minister of Health and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali announced that the pilgrims' health status is reassuring, and there are no COVID-19 cases among pilgrims so far. This came during the daily press briefing for the Hajj season 1441 AH in Makkah, with the participation of the security spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, Lt. Col. Talal Al-Shalhoub. Dr. Al-Abdulaali expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince, for the care and attention they attach to providing all means and capabilities to serve the pilgrims and facilitate their performance of Hajj in a healthy and safe manner. He pointed out that for this year, the Ministry of Health completed its readiness to provide health services with the concerted efforts of the health sectors, as it equipped health facilities in the Holy Sites. The facilities included 6 hospitals located in the Holy Sites, 51 clinics, 200 ambulances, 62 field teams, as well as a field hospital, a mobile clinic, 6 highly equipped ambulances, and 3 clinics at the pilgrims' residence. He said that the Ministry has provided a health leader for each group to ensure the health status of pilgrims, provide immediate care for them, and follow them on their entire pilgrimage. He called on pilgrims and workers in the Hajj to adhere to all preventive measures, including social distancing, wearing masks and maintaining personal hygiene to ensure the safety of all. For his part, Lt. Col. Talal Al-Shalhoub, Security Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior reviewed the security summary for the eighth day of Dhu al-Hijjah (Day of Tarwiyah), noting that the transfer of pilgrims from their residence in Makkah to the Miqat of Alsail Alkabir was completed so that pilgrims can make the intention of performing Hajj and the beginning of the Talbiyah and then head to the Holy Mosque to perform the Tawaf of arrival and then they arrive at the place of residence allocated to them in Mina in specific dates for organizing their Hajj according to the precautionary preventive measures for the Hajj season 1441 AH. He said that the pilgrims will spend the day of Tarwiyah in Mina before they leave tomorrow morning to Arafat. All the preparations according to the plans and regulations to facilitate the performance of Hajj were completed. Lt. Col. Al-Shalhoub called on all citizens and expatriates to abide by the instructions.
