Nearly one out of every two Germans would be willing to accept a pay cut if it meant securing their jobs, a much higher acceptance than in Britain or France, according to survey results published Thursday. The survey, undertaken by the TNS opinion research group for CNN and Time magazine, showed 48 per cent of Germans - as against 27 per cent in Britain and 25 per cent in France - willing to accept a pay cut if it meant keeping their jobs. The survey showed that in all three countries, more than 70 per cent of people agreed that their governments should take action to prevent companies from transferring jobs abroad. The CNN-Time survey was taken among 1,000 men and women each in Germany, France and Britain in the week of September 24 to 29.
