As many as 700 participants, including officials, individual investors, businessmen, multi-lateral corporations, local as well as world executives, boosting investment agencies and chambers of commerce and industry have taken part, in the workings of a virtually held symposium on Monday. The event was organized by the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) an affiliate of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirates Annual Investment Meeting, held in Dubai, in response to confront Coronavirus pandemic. Aiming at highlighting the challenges lying ahead and facing the private sector and the world economy, as the novel Coronavirus pandemic spread, the forum was inaugurated by the Emirates' Minister of Economy and the Chairman of AIM Sultan Al-Mansouri and President of IsDB Group Dr. Bandar Hajjar, in order to set future expectations that may help to control such a pandemic fallouts. IsDB working plan presented during the symposium, is based on three main themes: Response, Readiness and Re-building, through using all funding tools at avail, including funding lines, funding of trade, investment and upgrading both public and private sectors potentials, to work together in targeted domains' relevant to the economic empowering to combat the pandemic and its impacts.
